The essential step: save your recovery phrase

On first setup, the app shows you a 12-word recovery phrase. This is one of the few ways to unlock your archive again if you forget your password. Write it down and keep it offline, somewhere safe. We do not hold it and cannot regenerate it.

Without your password, recovery phrase, and a signed-in device, your archive cannot be recovered — not even by us. That is the price of real privacy.
